Review by Mark Wiechman
Album ***
On
their first major label release, the trio of Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy Osborn,
better known as SheDAISY, sound like Wilson Phillips singing with the Gin
Blossoms as their back-up band and heavy southern accents in their voices.
They are sisters, of course and quite attractive ones, with an image
seemingly aimed at the teen Christian female audience.
But
that comparison might be unfair; they have better vocal ranges and range of
expression than Wilson Phillips ever did.
Though there’s nothing here that will change the course of one's life
or the music industry, it’s still very well-done and a pleasant listen
overall. If you want a
great-sounding album that won’t offend anyone, here it is:
eleven tracks of country pop ranging from kick-up-your-heels fun to the
obligatory somber ballads. Of all
the songs, "Lucky 4 You" is the standout track.
Audio ****
Despite
having very little to distinguish it from other pop-country productions, this
disc is immaculately recorded with angelic harmonies that shine through its
superior DTS mix. All of the
instruments are well-spaced and do not interfere with the singing as in some DVD
concert videos and DVD-audio discs.
